Wylene Powell Linam, 82, a native of Perdido and a resident of Stockton, died Monday, July 23, 2007 at North Baldwin Infirmary.

She was owner and operator of Powell’s Grocery Store for 46 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jay Powell and Fred Linam and her sister, Naomi Rotch.

Survivors include a son, James Ray Powell Sr. of Stockton; daughter, Debra Lynn Powell of Jackson; two grandsons, James Ray Powell Jr. and Samuel Carlisle Powell, both of Stockton; brother and sister-in-law; James Winston and Betty Bolling of Enterprise; sisters and brother-in-law, Eunice and James Blackmon of Bay Minette and and Amy Gunn of Prattville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sam and Ann Powell of Stockton, Louise Sullivan of Stockton; and Roland and Mary Rotch Sr. of Rabun

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26 at Stockton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Shelley, the Rev. Glenn Whitfield Jr. and the Rev. Alan Blackmon officiating. Burial followed at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were, James Ray Powell Jr., Samuel Carlisle Powell, Roland Rotch Jr., Bob Jones, Scotty Scott and Earl Homan.
