Lillie Lucille (Richerson) Chastang, age 85, born in Baldwin County, and a resident of Stapleton, Ala., died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Robertsdale Health Care. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Eugenia Chastang (Silas E. Sr.) Nelson of Stapleton; her sons, Jim (Minnie) Chastang of Canton, Ga., David Chastang of Bay Minette, and grandson, Michael Chastang of Stapleton; her grandchildren, Branda, Karen, Chris, Diana, Denise, Susan, Earl, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Chad and Rick; her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Aaron, Dallas, Case, Kaitlyn, Kenleigh, Anna, Isaac, Abby, Matt, Andy, Sam, Brett, Bethany, Emily, Chris, Tyler, Hannah, Tonya, T.J., Trinity and Taylor and two brothers, James Betterton of Mobile, and Melvin Betterton, of Loxley. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Chastang. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Stapleton Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow at Chastang Cemetery in White House Fork. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Stapleton Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Justin Lowe, Aaron, Lowe, Dallas Kellams, Brandon Buck, Michael Chastang, Jim Chastang, Chris Aldrich and Chad Chastang.
