Lillian hit by tornado early Sunday morning

LILLIAN — Lillian Volunteer Fire Department was paged out at 3:29 a.m., Sunday Sept. 4, for an overturned 5th wheel trailer at the KOA campground on Baldwin County Road 99.

Two individuals were extricated by fellow campers before firefighters arrived.

A number of calls were received at the 911 Center and firefighters responded to the Spanish Cove community after a tornado touched down within the community and continued for 5 miles in a northwest direction through the Lillian countryside. Fire apparatus from Perdido Beach Volunteer Fire Department responded to assist Lillian personnel.

A horse farm on Rosalia Avenue received extensive damage to a barn, silo and out-buildings. A number of homes were damaged in Lillian; one was a total loss. No injures reported.
