Lewis Jay Meyer, 85, a resident of Fairhope, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope and a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Meyer was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Paula Meyer of Fairhope; sons, Kelly (Kim) Meyer, Jeff Meyer and Matt Meyer, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Adam, Ryan, Bryce, Taylor and Brandi; great-grandchildren, Kai and Riley; two stepsisters; and a stepbrother.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A private graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
