Lewis Nickolls “Nickie” Lewis, 58, a native of Silverhill and a resident of Birmingham, died Friday, April 24, 2009.
He served in the U.S. Army, was a Vietnam veteran, served as a chaplain for a short time and was stationed in Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Kitty Lewis of Loxley; mother, Emily Cohron of Robertsdale; sister, Linda Farrell of Boca Raton, Fla.; three step-sisters, Virginia Jerkins of Silverhill, Margaret Dawson of Loxley and Donna Skipper of Summerdale; three brothers, David Lewis of Gautier, Miss., Danny Lewis of Grand Bay and Michael Lewis of Styx River; half-brother, Bill Cohron of Mobile; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28 at the Robertsdale First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Silverhill Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association of Alabama, 900 S. 18th Street, Birmingham, AL 35209.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
