Leonell (Nell) M. Ditto, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 13, 2018 after losing her battle with cancer. She was in her home surrounded by family at the time of her passing.
Nell was born on Dec. 3, 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee to Evelyn and Ellis Menke. She married Charles J. Ditto Jr. on July 17, 1946 with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.
Nell and her family moved from Memphis to Fairhope in 2004. Although Memphis always had a special place in her heart, she grew to love Fairhope and made many lasting friendships.
Her favorite pastime was working in her beautiful garden.
Nell was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope and a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She spared no expense of love to her family and friends near or far.
Nell is survived by her husband, Charles Ditto; only son, Phillip Ditto (wife Lynn); only grandson, Brantley Ditto (wife Laura); only great-grandson, Williamson (Will) Ditto, all of Fairhope.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Fairhope Christian Church, 349 Fairwood Blvd., Fairhope, AL 36532. All friends and family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Women's Care Medical Center of Robertsdale, Alabama or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, which were both near and dear to Nell's heart.
