Lawsuit filed against Daphne over Tiawasee development

DAPHNE, Alabama— The Tiawasee Trace Property Owners Association filed suit today against the city of Daphne and the Daphne Planning Commission over the approval and annexation of the proposed Retreat at Tiawasee subdivision and property.

The complaint was filed this morning in Baldwin County Circuit Court by Robert Stankoski of Fairhope, the Tiawasee Trace POA's attorney.

The lawsuit came four days after Monday's 4-3 vote by the Daphne council to approve annexation of the Retreat at Tiawasee property, which is located next to the Tiawasee Trace subdivision.

The June 17 vote in favor of annexation reversed the council's June 3 denial of the annexation request.

Editor's Note: See today's edition of The Courier for more on the council's turnabout vote this week and the June 25 edition for additional coverage of the lawsuit.
