Lawrence “Larry” M. Brown, 78, of Foley passed away on Sept. 30, 2013.
Mr. Brown served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Brown was a member of the American Legion and past Chaplain of Post No. 99 Foley for more than 16 years, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5658 in Elberta.
He was retired from his job as a truck driver for the city of Chicago.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of more than 59 years, Barbara E. Brown of Foley; one son, James Nelson of Foley; one brother, Merle E. Brown Jr. of Missouri; one granddaughter, Lynn Marie Nelson of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Brown will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at 6 p.m., from Joy Tabernacle Church in Foley. Visitation will take place at the church from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family asks that donations be made to Joy Tabernacle Church.
