Laudie Lee “Son” Huggins, age 86, born in Perdido, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many. He was a welder (retired) at Avondale Ship Yard. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S Navy. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Gayle and James “Buddy” Wilson, Sr. of Pine Grove; daughter-in-law, Susan Huggins of Pine Grove; one brother, Gary Huggins of Metairie, LA; grandchildren, Angela Shuck of Canton, MS, Quentin (Jenefel) Stafford of Los Angles, CA, Teresa (Scott) Hammond of Great Falls, SC, Sherri Wilson of Great Falls, SC, Britt (Rebecca) Wilson of Lancaster, SC, Nicholas Wilson of Montgomery, AL, John Seymour of Orange Beach, AL, Lee Huggins of Pine Grove and Josh Huggins of Pine Grove; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Morrow Huggins; one son, Michael Huggins; a grandson, Chris Stafford; three sisters and one brother. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Glen Whitfield, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Perdido. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
