GULF SHORES, Ala. – The news and information websites GulfCoastNewsToday.com and GulfVisitorGuide.com announced a new audience appreciation contest as a Sendoff-to-Summer tribute. Grand Prize will be a family weekend getaway at the beautiful Beach Club resort in Gulf Shores.

To be entered for the giveaway, simply create a user log-in on either website by Labor Day (2013). The sign-up box is located at the very top right corner of both sites. A random drawing will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd among all users registered through midnight of Labor Day. Registration is absolutely FREE. By creating a site log-in, users can submit event items to our interactive community calendar, comment on articles, submit news items, press releases and letters to the editor.

Your same log-in can be used to claim and manage business and community listings on the sites' Gulf Coast Directory.

The sites are products of the Gulf Coast Newspapers group (GCN). Publisher Sudie Gambrell said of the new audience contest, "First, we want to thank our readers for trusting our digital products as a prime source of Gulf Coast news and information, which in turn has fired tremendous growth in our online audience this past year. Second, we want to invite more interaction with that audience and continue growing the sense of 'community' with user-contributed content, comment and discussion."

GCN is a community newspaper group based on the Alabama Gulf Coast which in addition to its digital properties publishes 5 twice-weekly papers, the oldest of which began in 1890 (second-oldest started in 1894): The Baldwin Times, The Courier, The Independent, The Onlooker and The Islander.

Contest grand prize will be free a two-night family getaway in a 2-bedroom beachfront suite at The Beach Club. The Grand Prize package will also include a gourmet dinner at Coast Restaurant (up to $100 value) and a four-pack of free guest tickets to the Cobb Pinnacle 14 Theaters in Gulf Shores.
