Keith Larsen, 75, a native of Ottawa, Ill., and a resident of Foley, died July 6, 2008.

He was a veteran. Following his discharge from the U.S. Army, he went to work for the C.B. & Q Railroad in their Operating Department. He was promoted to Locomotive Engineer in 1965 and was selected for a management position in 1969.

His first assignment was in Western Nebraska. When his company merged with the Great Northern and became the Burlington Northern, he was transferred to North Dakota. Two years later he was sent to St. Paul to help develop a training program for locomotive engineers. He finished his 37-year career in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He joined the Masonic Lodge 1287 in Wichita Falls, and eventually became Master of that Lodge. After retirement he moved from Wichita Falls to Foley and became active in local Masonic Lodge 766. He then joined the Sojourners group and was invited to become a member of HEROES OF '76.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughter, Jacqueline; sons, Randall and William; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
