Cortez Oscar Landry, 88, a native of Provencal, La., and a resident of Georgetown, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at his home following a long illness.

He and his wife had made their home in Georgetown for 30 years. He was a retired machinist; was a proud US Navy veteran having served in World War II and Korea as a machinist mate. He attended Beulah Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Alma Thomas Landry; his brothers, Havern Durio Landry and Michael Moise Landry; and his sisters, Lydia Lolette McNab and Jo Nita Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Leverta Landry of Georgetown, Fla.; his daughter, Debora (Ray) Halinc of Tampa, Fla.; son, Michael (Abbie) Landry of Natchilockes, La.; sister, Ernestine Sanders of Mobile; and two brothers, Charles Landry of Sims, Ark., and William M. Landry of Mobile.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Pine Grove Cemetery with Military Honors.
