Lagoon preservation society meeting April 21 in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, AL - "Improving and protecting Alabama's coastal environment though cooperation, education and participation" to be presented by Mark Berte with the Alabama Coastal Foundation April 21.

LLPS members and Gulf Shores residents are invited to the LLPS quarterly meeting to learn about the work of the Alabama Coastal Foundation. Berte, ACF Executive Director, has been invited to be the guest speaker to share ACF's mission of improving and protecting Alabama's coastal environment through cooperation, education and participation.

ACF uses an inclusive environmental stewardship approach to accomplish that mission. To get an advance look at ACF's various programs and activities, please visit www.joinacf.org. 

LLPS will meet Thursday, April 21st at 5:30 p.m. at the Adult Activity Center. The first half hour of the meeting provides an opportunity to mingle and enjoy refreshments. The program begins at 6, and will include a question-and-answer period. The public is invited.

Other agenda items will include resident concerns conveyed to ALDOT about Lagoon Pass. Southwest Region Engineer Vince Calametti to speak. Others are Little Lagoon restoration projects considered by city, Gulf Shores doubles allowable pier "house" size in Lagoon and the financial statement first quarter of 2016.
