BIRMINGHAM, Ala., —Bayside Academy won the Silver Division of the Juanita Boddie Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday with a 25-21, 25-13 straight set win over Southside at the Crossplex in Birmingham.

Sydney Chandler delivered 26 assists, 12  aces, nine kills and 34 digs. Jhalen Caffey led a balanced attack with 43 kills, 58 digs. Lauren Chastang added 38 kills, 51 digs; Morgan Dulaney 36 kills, 24 digs; Harper Morrson 17 kills, 10 digs. Defensive specialists Madison Matthews and Julia Martin had 51 and 25 digs each.

Brentwood defeated McGill-Toolen Catholic 25-12, 25-15 in the Gold Bracket title match. It was Brentwood’s second straight Boddie title after defeating Mountian Brook in the 2012 championship.

The Lady Admirals are playing in the McGill-Toolen tournament in Mobile this weekend.
