The Knights of Columbus Fr. Ryan Council 2737 will host its 12th annual live Team Trivia Fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Christ the King School gym in downtown Daphne.
The event, one of the largest trivia competitions on the Eastern Shore, is expected to attract more than 40 teams competing for a share of $1,050 in cash prizes. Net proceeds from the fundraiser will support the Knights of Columbus and its local charitable initiatives.
Dinner will be served from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and will feature Southern Bayou Alfredo with chicken, shrimp and sausage prepared by Chef Bob Coppoletta. The trivia competition is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m.
Teams of up to six players will compete by answering 49 trivia questions. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, with $600 for first place, $300 for second place and $150 for third place. An optional 50/50 Split-the-Pot Raffle also will be available.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Organizers said attendance is limited to 264 participants and encouraged early ticket purchases because the event has sold out in previous years.
Individuals without a team will be assigned to one. Guests who want to attend the dinner and watch the trivia competition without participating are also welcome. Attendees must be at least 13 years old, and teenagers must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets may be purchased by contacting Alan Carrio at (251) 689-7577 or Tim Dees at (251) 654-1387. Tickets are also available from Kim at the Christ the King church office during regular business hours. Additional information is available at www.kofc2737daphne.com.
