Thomas A. “Tommy” Kirkconnell, 74, a native of Utila, Honduras, a former resident of Loxley and resident of Kenner, La., died Wednesday, July 4, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ute Elsabe Pfeffer Kirkconnell, parents, Annie Thompson Gomez and Adee Kirkconnell, and brother, Dale Kirkconnell.

Survivors include a son, Gene Kurt Kirkconnell of Evans, Ga.; five brothers, Dave, Wavell, Kirby, Danny and Austin Kirkconnell; six sisters, Yvette Hyde, Yvonne Ferrera, Rose Marie Gomez, Rolando Gomez, Alene Hyde and Darla McLaughlin; two grandchildren, Ian Comer Kirkconnell and Caroline Elizabeth Kirkconnell; and nephews and nieces, Donald Bush, Michelle, Raquel, Charlton and Claudine.

Graveside funeral services and burial was held Monday, July 9 at Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley.

The family requests memorial donations be made to International Hospital for Children, c/o Honorary Consulate of Belize, 39 Burleigh Court North, Marrero, LA 70072.

Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
