Robert E. King Sr., 77, a native of Bay Minette and resident of Rosinton, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

He served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Baldwin County School System after over 34 years where he was the principal of Rosinton and Daphne Elementary schools and taught at Robertsdale High School where he later served as assistant principal.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde King.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Ellison King; three sons, Robert E. “Bob” (Gloria) King Jr., Bradley (Carolyn) King and Byron (Gail) King, all of Rosinton; two sisters, Althea Dunn and Laura Dekker, both of Bay Minette; and a brother O.N. King Jr. of Bay Minette; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at the Rosinton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike White officiating. Burial will follow at Rosinton Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bob King, Bradley King, Byron King, Orie King, Ryan King, Thomas Harms and Burie Ellison.

Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
