Families looking for activities this week will find a variety of programs for children and teens across Baldwin County. Local libraries, attractions and community organizations are offering creative workshops, nature programs, interactive entertainment and hands-on learning opportunities throughout the week. Here are several events planned for young people and their families.

SUMMER WRITING CAMP

What: Under The Southern Oak will host a summer journaling workshop for children ages 6-12. Participants will create personalized journals using stickers, washi tape, scrapbook paper, markers, colored pencils and collage materials. Guided prompts will encourage storytelling, reflection and creativity through activities including summer bucket lists, memory writing, dream vacations and nature journaling. When: Thursday, July 2, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

NATURE TIME STORYTIME WITH GULF STATE PARK

What: Gulf Shores Public Library will host Nature Time Storytime featuring a Gulf State Park naturalist and a variety of animal ambassadors. Attendees will learn about local wildlife and the important roles animals play in the Gulf Coast ecosystem through an interactive educational presentation.

When: Thursday, July 2, 10:30 a.m.

Where: Gulf Shores Public Library, 221 W. 19th Ave., Gulf Shores

Price: Free admission

TEEN CRAFTERNOON

What: Fairhope Public Library will host T.REX X-STITCH, a hands-on cross-stitch workshop for teens ages 13-18. Participants will learn the basics of cross-stitch while creating a Tyrannosaurus rex skull design that can be used as a patch for a backpack, jacket or other item. The program introduces a new crafting skill through a dinosaur-themed project.

When: Monday, July 6, 5-6 p.m.

Where: Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Ave., Fairhope

Price: Free admission

PIRATES AND PRINCESSES BREAKFAST ADVENTURE SHOW

What: The Hangout will present an interactive Pirates and Princesses Breakfast Adventure Show featuring a live themed performance and an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Menu items include biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and breakfast potatoes. Children can participate in character interactions, photo opportunities and the Golden Ticket Experience, which includes exclusive VIP items. Admission includes breakfast, entertainment and activities. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for check-in. Additional showtimes are available.

When: Tuesday, July 7, 9-10:15 a.m. and 10-11:15 a.m.

Where: The Hangout, 101 E. Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores

Price: Adults $19.99, children $9.99, children 5 and younger admitted free with a limit of two per paid adult

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY HALF-OFF ARCADE

What: The Gulf Bowl will offer half-price arcade play throughout the day as part of its summer family programming. Discounts are automatically applied at green card readers, allowing guests to earn e-tickets and redeem prizes while enjoying arcade games and entertainment.

When: Wednesday, July 8, 9 a.m.-10 p.m.

Where: The Gulf Bowl, 2881 S. Juniper St., Foley

Price: Half-price arcade play

HANDS-ON HABITAT

What: Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo will present Hands-On Habitat, a free educational nature program for children and adults. Participants will learn about the Gulf Coast ecosystem and interact with animal ambassadors while exploring the zoo environment. Online reservations are required for all summer activities. Guests should include all participants, including adults, when registering. Lunch may be purchased separately from Jack’s Bar. Attendees are asked to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. Personal pets are not permitted.

When: Wednesday, July 8, 11 a.m.-noon
