Is your little one looking for something fun to do this week?
From story time and crafts to cartooning and open gym play, there are plenty of family-friendly activities on the calendar to keep young minds busy and little bodies moving.
Whether your child loves books, art, animals or simply having a chance to run, jump and play, these local events offer easy ways for families to get out and enjoy some time together. Grab the kids and make a little room on the calendar for some fun.

What: The cARToonist Book Club, led by Nadia Askew, will meet for readers who enjoy books and drawing. Participants are encouraged to explore their creativity while combining a love of reading with cartooning and art. The club meets each Thursday and invites participants to be their creative selves.

What: The American Autism & Rehabilitation Center will host a Community Special Needs Fall Festival for children and individuals with special needs and their families. The family-friendly evening will feature games and activities, fall-themed fun, a Touch-a-Truck experience, animal encounters, entertainment, food and treats, community resources and more. The festival is hosted by the American Autism & Rehabilitation Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

What: Bay Minette Public Library will host Story Time with Word Bird, an interactive reading program designed to encourage early literacy through storytelling. What: Young children can burn off some energy and have fun during Tot Open Play at Bay City Gymnastics Academy. The weekly open gym is designed for children ages 5 and under and offers a chance to drop in and play without a long-term commitment. The event is cash only and first come, first served. Exactly one adult must accompany each child for supervision.
