From hands-on entrepreneurship opportunities to interactive live shows and family-friendly games, local venues are offering a variety of activities designed especially for children and teens this summer.
Young creators can showcase their talents at a kid-run craft fair, families can enjoy an immersive breakfast adventure with pirates and princesses and children can test their skills during weekly beach competitions. Here is a look at upcoming events for young people and families across the area.

What: Tacky Jacks will host its Summer of Fun Beach Games, featuring friendly competition for children ages 6-12. Participants will take part in games, challenges and activities while competing for prizes and appearances on Tacky TV. Each child will receive a free kids meal. Parents also can participate in a water balloon dodgeball game for prizes. Reservations are required. Children must be able to follow directions independently for safety reasons. What: Forgotten Finds will host a Kids Craft Fair featuring young entrepreneurs ages 10-17 selling handmade creations. All items offered for sale must be handmade by the participating child and each child must be present to sell their products. Young vendors will keep 100% of their proceeds and are responsible for handling their own sales and change. The event also will feature food from Dolly's Dawgs and a book signing by local authors. What: The Hangout will present its Pirates & Princesses Breakfast Adventure Show, an interactive live performance paired with an all-you-can-eat breakfast dance party. Guests will enjoy a family-style breakfast featuring biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and breakfast potatoes while taking part in the pirate- and princess-themed experience. Children also may participate in the Golden Ticket Experience, which includes exclusive VIP items. Additional breakfast specials will be available for purchase. The experience includes breakfast, the live show and photo opportunities. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early for check-in. Additional dates are available. What: The Gulf Bowl will offer half-price arcade play all day every Wednesday throughout June and July. Discounts will be automatically applied to all arcade games using green card readers. Guests can earn e-tickets and redeem prizes while enjoying one of the venue's summer specials. The promotion is designed for families, summer break outings and rainy-day entertainment.
