Families across Baldwin County will find plenty of ways to keep kids engaged with a lineup of events focused on creativity, outdoor fun and hands-on learning.

From community park planning and outdoor movies to library programs and interactive environmental education, these activities offer something for children of all ages.

Many events are free or low-cost, making it easy for families to take part throughout the week.

CHILDREN’S AFTERSCHOOL READING PROGRAM

What: Summerdale Public Library will host an afterschool program featuring reading, arts and crafts and refreshments. The April 23 session will focus on Arbor Day, with activities including planting a tree and learning about nature. The program is designed to engage young readers while encouraging creativity and environmental awareness.

When: Thursday, April 23, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Where: Summerdale Public Library, 202 W. Broadway St., Summerdale

MUSIC AND A MOVIE

What: The city of Foley will host its Music and a Movie series at Heritage Park, offering family-friendly entertainment with live music followed by an outdoor movie screening. The April 24 event features a performance by MidLife Crisis followed by a showing of “Zootopia 2.” Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. Food vendors and bounce houses will be available, along with a scavenger hunt and additional activities for children. Updates and event details are available on the Visit Foley social media pages.

COME PLAY WITH US! KIDS PARK COMMUNITY EVENT

What: The city of Gulf Shores will host “Come Play with Us!” a family-friendly event inviting residents to help shape the future of the new Kids Park at Johnnie Sims Park. Children can take part in activities including a drawing station to design their dream playground, while adults can complete surveys and provide input on features for the redesigned space. The event will also include music, face painting, games, snow cones and cotton candy. Community feedback will help guide the redesign led by Leathers & Associates. Those unable to attend can participate online by completing surveys and submitting ideas at www.gulfshoresal.gov/kidspark.

When: Saturday, April 25, 9-11 a.m.

Where: Kids Park at Johnnie Sims Park, Gulf Shores

BOARD GAME NIGHT

What: Spanish Fort Public Library will host a board game night for families, teens and friends. Participants can choose from a variety of classic board and card games including Catan, Clue, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. The event offers a relaxed environment for all ages to connect and enjoy friendly competition.

When: Tuesday, April 29, 3:30-7 p.m.
