Mildred Eloise Dumas Fillingim Kennedy, 88, a native of Camden and a resident of Bay Minette, died Oct. 19, 2008 at Oakwood Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 21, 1919 and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William James and Lula D. Clark Dumas; her first husband Jesse Alexander "Jack" Fillingim; her second husband, John Cecil Kennedy; and her son, William Harry Fillingim.
Survivors include two children, Jacqueline “Jackie” Ruth Fillingim (Charles W.) Ruple and John Cecil (Carolyn Joyce) Kennedy, all of Crossroads; daughter-in-law, Hannelore Fillingim of Daphne; her six grandchildren, Diane Ruth Fillingim Hurst, Donna Sue Fillingim Yerger, Joseph Andrew Fillingim, Charles W. Ruple Jr., Jonathan Neal Ruple and Laura Leigh Kennedy Horn; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 22 at the First Baptist Church in Bay Minette with Dr. Henry Cox and Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Ruple, Sam Ruple, Bill Ruple Jr., Neal Ruple, “T3” Horn and Joe Fillingim.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1628, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
