Kay Butler, 57, not only lost 181 pounds, but she also decided to celebrate that accomplishment in a monumental way: on Oct. 20, she swam across the Intracoastal Waterway amidst the cheers of her friends and family. She began her swim at Pirate's Cove, and the plan was to swim 0.8 miles to Flippers at Bear Point Marina. Because of the current, Kay ended up swimming more than a mile, and she was in the water for an hour and 10 minutes.
