Kavin Ross Mathis, 56, of Stella, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at his home.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery, Loxley, with Military Honors. The Rev. Jeff Copeland officiating. Mathis retired as a MSgt from the USMC. He is survived by his wife, Nancy P. Mathis; three sons, Eric Mathis of Stella, Clinton (Pam) Mathis of Lady Lake, Fla; Kelvin C. (Morgan)Mathis of Lakeland, Fla; two daughters, Claudette (James) Lloyd of Robertsdale, and Virginia A. Mathis of Ocala; four sisters, Geraldine (Wayne) Zutterman of Bashor, Kan; Pauline (Ken) Domer of Spearville, Kan; Donna (Eddie) Darby of Robertsville; and Barbara (Robert) Ragan of Brewton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family received friends Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm, at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Regiment, 3025 John Quick Road, MCB Quantico, VA. 22134, c/o Charitable Donations Coordinator.
