Karl Richard Gross Sr., 79, a native of Chicago and resident of Gulf Shores, died Saturday, July 6, 2013.
Mr. Gross was preceded in death by his wife, Mari Anne Gross.
He is survived by his son, Karl Richard “Rick” (Carolyn) Gross Jr. of Chicago; daughter, Karen Freeman of Sarasota, Fla.; son, John D. Gross of Sarasota; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Gross honorably served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart.
A memorial service will be held in Chicago at a later date.
