FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Eastern Shore Art Center announced the winners of the Alabama South Juried Photography Competition 2009 during the First Friday ArtWalk on Friday.
Best of Show was awarded to Parker Bowab for “The Lighthouse.” Bowab is a Fairhope High School graduate, and is currently a student at the Art Institute of Tennessee in Nashville, majoring in graphic design and photography.
Other awards presented include First Place to Jeff D. Johnston of Mobile for “End of the Road,” Second Place to Scott Clements of Daphne for “Spring in a Pecan Orchard,” Third Place to Mike Allen of Fairhope for “Nite Light” and Honorable Mention to Foncie Bullard of Point Clear for “River of Joy.”
Alabama South Juried Photography Competition 2009 will be on display at the Eastern Shore Art Center along with “William C. Morris: Art as a Purpose” and “Lynda Smith Touart: Examples” through Aug. 29.
The Eastern Shore Art Center is located in downtown Fairhope at 401 Oak Ave.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
