BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Things at the Senior Center are quieting down for the Summer.
Computer classes ended for the summer. However, it is planned to start back in the fall. Thanks Gala Roberts for your help in providing these classes.
The exercise class will continue throughout the summer on Monday and Wednesday at 3 p.m. That would be a good time for those interested in starting a walk group to talk it up.
Game day will also continue every Thursday, starting at 2 p.m. So plan your schedule to come and enjoy dominoes or a game of your choice. We are open to learning a new game. Today’s the day.
This past Monday was the monthly Officer’s Planning Meeting and more about upcoming things for June next week.
Movie Nite is tomorrow night. So bring your favorite salad and join us for a lite fellowship at 5 p.m. The movie, “The Story Lady,” will begin at 6 p.m. Will be a wonderful movie. Don’t miss Jessica Tandy and Stephanie Zimbalist, what a combination. This will wind down the merry month of May at the Senior Center.
In closing, the seniors at the Senior Center would like to wish all May birthdays a Happy Birthday!
And for those we know, we wish you a Happy Birthday, Sandy Sakwa, 1; Hazel Scott, 11; Lois Mixon, 4; Armarec Hood, 5; Evelyn Harper, 12; Evie Gagner 13; Hugh White, 16;
Awonga Drinkard and Sue Hadley 17; Barbara Eubanks, 19; Jack Jones, 20; Mary Porter, 21; James “Preacher” Middleton, 27; George “Jabo” Cattrett, 28; and Helen Blackmon, 31.
June is a month of happy times and memories. The Senior Center will also be a place of happy times and memories.
So drop by the first week of June, pick up a calendar and include us in your June schedule. Is there something about June and spoon? Let me know.
I understand the pool is planning a time for seniors, check it out! Also, hope to see you at the park for the “Firefly” concert.
Thought for the week:
A player’s effectiveness is directly related to his ability to be right there, doing that thing, in the moment … He can’t be worrying about the past or the future or the crowd or some other extraneous event. He must be able to respond in the here and now.
— John Brodie
May God bless you until we meet again.
