Joseph Eugene “Joe” Raley, 77, a native of Summerdale, passed away peacefully Jan. 25, 2015 at his home in Gulf Shores.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Eugene “Bobby” Raley of Summerdale, Bert Lester (Tina) Raley of Foley and Joseph Scott (Sue) Raley of Gulf Shores; a daughter, Regina Raley (Jay) Stradley of Orange Beach; the mother of his children, Betty Raley Wallace of Summerdale; a sister Ernestine Raley Bemis of Summerdale; his best friend and K-9 sidekick, BeBe; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Raley was a cornerstone in his community, and through his amazing workmanship his legacy will continue to live on.
He played a pivotal role in bringing Youth-Reach, a program that gives troubled kids a fresh chance by introducing them to Jesus, giving them a quality education and teaching them valuable life skills, to Baldwin County.
Mr. Raley was an avid hunter and founder of Big Buck Hunting Club in Gilbertown. He had a love for Alabama football and his furry friend BeBe, but there is nothing Mr. Raley loved more than his family. He will be greatly missed for years to come.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.
The funeral will be held at Summerdale Assembly of God on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Youth-Reach Gulf Coast, P.O. Box 357, Summerdale, AL 36580.
