'Tis the season to begin your Christmas shopping (if you haven't started already).
The Foley Art Center's annual Trim-A-Tree holiday market opens with a festive reception on Friday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitors are invited to enjoy light refreshments while browsing a selection of one-of-a-kind, handmade crafts and fine arts by over 50 local artists and artisans.
It is important to note that Trim-A-Tree will not be held in the Tanger Outlets this year and will instead be located at the Foley Art Center. Located across from Heritage Park on Highway 59, the six-week event will feature unique creations from more than 120 artists and crafters from across the Southeast. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, visitors can explore an array of holiday items, including ornaments, stained glass, wood carvings, jewelry and original artwork in various mediums.
All items are crafted by juried members of the Foley Art Center, ensuring quality and originality in each piece. Alongside seasonal decor, the event will showcase intricate quilts, textiles, driftwood sculptures and hand-woven rugs. The market offers a one-stop destination for distinctive holiday gifts, with options spanning oils, watercolors, mixed media and photography.
Founded over 50 years ago by a group of local citizens, the Foley Art Center has been a cornerstone of the Gulf Coast art scene. The nonprofit organization supports arts education with scholarships, school programs, and classes for all ages.
