John Henry Schwall, age 69, a resident of Fairhope, Ala., passed away Monday, March 7, 2016.
He was a retired captain from the New York City Fire Department. He was employed by several restaurants as a bartender on Staten Island. He was an avid cook and a New York Yankees and Giants fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Schwall of Fairhope, Ala.; daughters, Karen Mangan of Westfield, N.J., Kristen Sullivan of Scotch Plains, N.J., Caitlin Schwall and stepdaughter, Melissa McGurk, both of Spanish Fort, Ala.; son, John Schwall of Staten Island, N.Y.; stepsons, Lawrence McGurk and Brian McGurk, both of Staten Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to time of service.
