Jesse Dewitt Gilbreath, 72, a longtime resident of Foley, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013.
He was born July 12, 1940 to William D. and Willie Inez Willingham Gilbreath at Fort Payne, Ala., moved to Silverhill when he was 2 and attended Robertsdale High School.
Mr. Gilbreath was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenavis Harrison; parents; and brother, Albert; and three sisters, Gladys, Christina and Emma Lou.
Mr. Gilbreath worked for Blackwell Shell for 38 years, and 10 years on oil rigs as a cook. He retired in June 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Shirley Pratt Gilbreath; two daughters, Wendy (Gary) Egebrecht of Daphne and Angelia (Michael) Zuluaga of Amenis, N.Y.; five stepchildren, Osa (Steve) Brown of Orange Beach, Bruce Pratt, Maureen Eppenson, Charles Pratt and Chris Pratt, all of Waterloo, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4 until the time of service.
