The Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation will host its 28th Annual Professional Rodeo Aug. 6-8 at the City of Robertsdale’s Arena, bringing three nights of family-friendly entertainment designed to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health and resiliency across Baldwin County.
The foundation said the rodeo remains a cornerstone community event honoring the memory of Jennifer Claire Moore while serving as its largest annual fundraiser. Organizers emphasized its ongoing focus on prevention, advocacy, education and resource referral for student well-being through programs such as Peer Helpers PLUS.
Kind Cafe in Fairhope is serving as the official title sponsor for the 2026 event. Foundation leaders expressed appreciation for the café’s support, saying its generosity and commitment to the community are helping set the stage for a major fundraising weekend.
Sandy Sansing Dealerships is sponsoring this year’s Rodeo Queen Contest, which is now accepting applications for the 2026 competition. The contest remains a long-running tradition tied to the rodeo and is designed to engage young women in local rodeo communities while building involvement in philanthropy and service.
Organizers said the contest aims to bring women of all ages together in support of one another in the sport while teaching future generations what it means to work toward goals and support others along the way.
The competition is divided into three age categories: Princess for ages 5 to 12, Jr. Queen for ages 13 to 18 and Queen for ages 19 and older. Each category will include a winner, first runner-up and second runner-up.
Contestants will be judged in a two-part format consisting of an interview and horsemanship. Entry fee is $60 and includes four tickets to the rodeo, a $72 value. Applications and entry fees must be submitted online by July 7 at 5:00 p.m. CST.
The interview portion will be held July 14 at 315 East Laurel Avenue in Foley. Group photos begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by interviews at 6 p.m. Contestants will take part in a four-minute interview and will be judged on eye contact, speech ability and response as well as poise and personality. Western attire is required.
The horsemanship and crowning event will take place July 16 at the Robertsdale Arena, 19477 Fairground Road, Robertsdale. Contestants must ride their own horse and will be evaluated on riding ability, control and execution of a correct pattern. Leadlining is not allowed and contestants must ride independently. Western attire is required.
Winners will serve as reigning queens for all three nights of the rodeo Aug. 6-8. They will also be required to attend a Foley Rotary Club luncheon on Friday, Aug. 7 as guests of Frances Holk Jones. The luncheon will highlight the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation, the Peer Helpers PLUS program and the rodeo.
Throughout their reign, queens must assist with one Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation event as well as the 2027 Rodeo Queen Contest. Organizers said queens are expected to reflect the foundation’s mission and motto: “Be the Good, Show the Way, and Lend a Hand.”
