Janet Lynn Dixon

Posted

Janet Lynn Dixon went home to her Creator and Savior on the evening of Nov. 6,

  1. A beloved wife and mother of three, “Look for ways to be Jesus to people” was

the phrase she instilled in her children and a motto she lived by throughout her life.

She is survived by Gregg, her husband of 44 years, their children Luke (Caryn) Dixon,

Nashville, Daniel (Patricia) Dixon, Denver, and Elizabeth Dixon, Oxford, as well as

granddaughters Hayley and Hannah.

The third child of Jack and Ruthie Meyer, Jan was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She

enjoyed playing the piano as a child, oboe in school band, and being a disc jockey at

the local radio station in college. Jan completed her Communications degree from

University of Illinois. Matched by a friend, she met Gregg and they married within nine

months of meeting.

Jan had a heart for service to God, shown by her loving devotion as a helpmate to her

husband, as a mother and grandmother, and as a member of 3Circle Church. Jan was

active in women’s ministries, Home of Grace, Prodisee Pantry, and Meals on Wheels.

She was most happy when she was giving of herself to serve others.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 3Circle Church (10274 State Hwy. 104, Fairhope,

AL 36532) on Saturday, Nov 20. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m.

Memorial donations can be made to Ecumenical Ministries, Prodisee Pantry, or the

Hope Center at 3Circle Church.
