James William “Bill” McDonald, 79, a native of Daytona Beach, Fla., and a longtime resident of Fairhope, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010.

He owned and operated the Chevron Station in Fairhope for 40 years. He also announced the Fairhope football games for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Cocke McDonald of Fairhope; daughter, Kim McDonald of Fairhope; two granddaughters, Kirsten Robertson and Alexis Burts, both of Fairhope; mother-in-law, Lillian Cocke of Fairhope; cousin, James Hamilton, of Tennessee; nieces, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Fairhope. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
