James Daniel Smith, 63, a native of Union Springs and resident of Stapleton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in Copan Ruinas, Honduras.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Brandon) Brown of Bay Minette; son, Andrew Smith of Bay Minette; granddaughter, Kaya Brown; and sisters, Dianne (Keith) Bromley and Carol Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daurice Mabry Smith of Montgomery; and mother, Jeanne Caroline Smith of Plano, Texas.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
