Martha Jackson, 81, a native of Northport and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007.

She was a teller at Central Foundry Bank, where she met her husband Cecil. They were married for 57 years.

As a devoted member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden in Knoxville, Tenn., she served many years as a preschool Sunday school teacher and was an active volunteer in the FISH Food Pantry and church teller ministries. She also worked in the Mother's Day Out Preschool Program for several years.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Janet) Hughes Jackson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jeffrey Cecil Jackson of Gulf Shores; two daughters, Elaine Jackson McGavin of Spanish Fort and Cecilia J. (John) Campbell of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Peter McGavin, Megan McGavin, Jennifer Campbell, William Jackson, Patrick McGavin, Julianne Campbell, Thomas Jackson, Conner McGavin and Sarah Jackson; sister, Grace Case of Tuscaloosa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Gardens.

A memorial service will be held in Knoxville, Tenn., at a later date.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or 225 N. Michigan Ave, Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.

The family would also like to express thanks to the people of Westminister Village and especially the entire staff at Bay Ridge who provided continual love, support, and care for the past four years.
