Jack Russell Wilkins, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2012.

Mr. Wilkins was a native of Skyline Farms, Jackson County, Ala.

He leaves behind his adoring wife of 52 years, Elizabeth; three children, Clark, Kathryn and Cecily Jane, six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wilkins was known for his many gifts in the arts and writing. Some of his work is available on Amazon.com.

He was a graduate of Kent State University with a double major in art and a master’s degree in art education. He taught fine art for 39 years.

He was known for his extraordinarily peaceful nature and strong faith.

Mr. Wilkins had a great love for his country and for Alabama and Fairhope. He particularly appreciated Fairhope’s beach, climate and flowers.

God has called his angel home.

Visitation will be at the Wilkins home at 117 Club Dr. in Fairhope at 7 p.m., Monday, July 23, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 11 a.m., officiated by Rector Mark Wilson of St. James and the Rev. Richard Wash of First Baptist Fairhope.
