GULF SHORES, Ala. — Gulf Shores is the place to be on Wednesday for those interested in purchasing or learning more about private aircraft.

As part of the Southeastern Aircraft Expo series, Jack Edwards Airport will host eight of general aviation’s leading manufacturers including Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond, Husky, Liberty, Mooney, Piper and Socata.

Southeastern Aircraft Expos are part of the series of Aircraft Expos held throughout Florida, Texas and the Southeast that offer aircraft purchasers an opportunity to see and compare the latest models all at a central location.

The Gulf Shores Expo will be held  June 17 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the airport.

Companies such as Premier Aircraft Sales, Inc. will be represented at the Expo. Premier is a 14-year-old aircraft sales and maintenance company specializing in the resale of late-model pre-owned aircraft. In addition to their office in Auburn, they have locations in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Vero Beach, Fla. as well as in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta and Raleigh Durham, N.C.

“These Expo events give serious aircraft shoppers a chance to compare all the latest models at an airport close to where they live,” said Fred Ahles, president of Premier Aircraft Sales. “They can also talk to representatives from leading aircraft manufacturers.

In addition to seeing all the newest aircraft, attendees will also have an opportunity to talk to leading aircraft tax, insurance and flight-training experts at various locations.

“This is a great opportunity, not just for those presently in the market for an aircraft, but for anyone who has a dream of one day owning a plane or those with general aviation interests,” said Dale Smith, event coordinator. “These events are very personal.  They are not crowded and it gives attendees an opportunity to really interact with the representatives from the aircraft companies.”

Many types of aircraft will be available, from a two-seat Husky to a Cessna Mustang private jet. Demo flights may be available upon request.
