Irene F. Zuidema, 93, a native of Omaha, Neb. and resident of Fulton, Ill., died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa.

She was born Feb. 25, 1920 to Rudolph and Mary (Filipowic) Krupinski, and was a graduate of Foley High School. She married Everette Zuidema Feb. 22, 1943 in Elberta.

Irene was employed by Fulton Corp. in Fulton, Ill.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton and the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Fulton American Legion Auxiliary.

Irene enjoyed gardening and baking.

She is survived by three sons, Edwin Zuidema of Fulton, Ill., Steve (Jennie) Zuidema of Bettendorf, Iowa and Ken Zuidema of Clinton, Iowa; two grandchildren, Linell (Dan) Eaton and Nicole Zuidema; four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Grace and Charlie Eaton, and Breanna Zuidema; two sisters, Leona McCullough of Pensacola and Dorothy Gerace of Wilmington, Del.; and one brother, John (Margaret) Krupinski of Foley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everette; and three sisters, Stella McCall, Helen Fishorn and Lovetta Humphrey.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m.,

at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, Ill., with the Rev. Father David Austin officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 5-8 p.m., at the Fulton Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment in Fulton Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
