Iona Griffin Quinley, 89, born in Section, Ala. near Fort Payne and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at North Baldwin Infirmary E.R.
She was a bookkeeper and office manager (retired) with Rider Construction Co. She was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Hand (Mildred) Quinley of Fayetteville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kristen Quinley Odom of Acworth, Ga. and A’lanson Hoffman of Birmingham; her brother, Billy Joe Griffin of Brewton; and her sister, Ginger Merrill of Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian L. Quinley; and two daughters, Lynn Ellen Head and Leah Ann Overstreet.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 4 p.m., at First Baptist Church, with Chaplain Cindy Still and Dr. Henry Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, from 2 until the 4 p.m. service at First Baptist Church.
