ELBERTA, Ala. — The body of Elberta an woman, Pamela Ellison, 60, was found by family members in her garage on 25177 Old Foley Road Tuesday. Ellison was stabbed to death, allegedly by her 41-year-old son, James Christopher Adams.
Adams, who had recently been released from prison after serving a four-year sentence for burglary and robbery, escaped the scene in Ellison’s 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.
According to Elberta Police Chief Gary Peaden, while the crime took place in Elberta jurisdiction, it was handed over to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s office due to the complicated nature of the scene.
Adams, who police considered armed and dangerous, was apprehended on Wednesday at a Burger King in Pensacola after officers spotted him walking down the street. He was immediately arrested and will be charged with the murder of Ellison.
U.S. Marshals extradited Adams from Florida to Baldwin County, where he is currently being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Correction Center.
At this time, officials are not releasing any further details.
