Page and Palette’s The Good Life Foundation announces the Third Annual Jubilee Kids Triathlon June 2 at 7:30 a.m. at the Fairhope Municipal Park. “Jubilee- Tri All Three” is part of The Good Life Foundation’s expanded focus to create programs that enrich young people’s minds, encourage fitness and support healthy living. This is a swim, bike, run race for ages 7-15.
Team Long Brothers, Sports Illustrated 2012 SportsKids of the Year, will also be racing this year. Conner and Cayden Long have been participating in triathlons as one team since 2011. Conner had always longed to play outside and ride bikes with his younger brother, but the odds were against him since Cayden, diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy, can’t walk or talk. When Conner saw his mom reading an article about an upcoming kid’s triathlon, the determined and dedicated brother suggested they race together, and Team Long Brothers was born. The brothers have competed in 14 triathlon events to date.
For more information or to register, go to www.iamathlete.com. Proceeds from the race will go to The Good Life Foundation to fund its current project, The Good Life Fitness Trail.
