Since switching computer software systems such services, which were provided through the school’s web site, have been suspended. Now that the transition to the INow system has been completed parents may log on once more.
Student login slips were sent home with the first report card on Oct. 21. The login slips provided the student’s unique username and a temporary password. Additional instructions on how to access grades were also included on this login slip.
The Health Occupations Career Fair at the Mobile Civic Center will be Nov. 4. Juniors, sophomores, and freshmen at RHS who are interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry are encouraged to participate. Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA, no unexcused absences, no disciplinary problems, and they must be approved by their guidance counselor.
The career fair is entirely interactive with hands-on experience at each exhibit.
Students will have the chance to offer emergency first aid to victims in a simulated car crash. Then, they will follow them through to X-ray and blood typing, as well as surgery and recovery.
From there, representatives from Faulkner State and the University of South Alabama will explain the role of nursing. There the students will learn to administer shots, as well as see how IV’s are used.
Physical therapy will be explained, as well as the role of social workers after the patient is released from a hospital.
Students should contact their guidance counselor today to sign-up, as time is running out, and space is limited! Juniors and sophomores will be given first priority, with any space left going to the freshman class.
The Robertsdale High Naval Jr. ROTC recently went on a two-day field trip to Naval Air Station, Pensacola, where the 44 cadets learned of Ft. Barrancas’ role during the Civil War, climbed the 177 steps of the Pensacola Lighthouse, and toured the Naval Aviation Museum. The group also visited “The Wall South,” which is a replica of the Vietnamese War Monument in Washington, D.C. Master Chief Bob Dairy, a Vietnam War veteran, told the cadets, “Hate war, but not the warrior.”
The group also did their morning physical training, in addition to marching with active duty marines and sailors. The cadets ate in the base’s chow halls, and bowled at the Correy Station bowling alley.
