Illinois Snowbird club has 194 at Gulf Shores breakfast

Approximately 194 Illinois Snowbirds and guests enjoyed the breakfast and fellowship at LuLu’s in Gulf Shores on Friday.

Instead of a guest speaker, three Illinois couples, each married for more than 50 years, took part in a “Experience Counts” game. Bob and Jean Lake, Stan and Arlene Morrison and Jim and Pat Shelton each attempted to match the answers given by their spouse. Jim and Pat Shelton won the grand prize.

Cheryl Borino drew tickets and handed out fabulous door prizes donated by local businesses.

 The next social is set for Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Adult Activity Center, followed by the Snowbird Play at the South Baldwin Community Theater.

The minigolf outing will be at Waterville on Tuesday at 1 p.m. The Illinois Golf Outing will be at Perdido Bay Golf Course on Feb. 24 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

The next breakfast meeting is Feb. 25 8:15 a.m. (doors open at 7:45) at Lulu’s in Gulf Shores. The cost is $8.

Featured will be Joanne McDonough speaking on “The Nature of The Coast”. Reservations need to be made by Tuesday by calling Rich & Nancy Huizinga at 948-7709 or Bill & Eileen Kolek at 948-5939.
