John Edward Ignots Sr., 103, of Elberta, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 in Elberta.
He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Johnstown, Pa., until he moved to Elberta, where he became an active member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Ignots; and a son, John Edward Ignots Jr.
Survivors include a son, Donald (Carolyn) Ignots Sr. of Elberta; four grandchildren, Linette Sims, Sharon Hambrid, Donald Ignots Jr., and Lisa Taylor; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Feb. 13 at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Elberta with Father Howard Mousier, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will follow at Prince of Peach Cemetery in Elberta.
