Chester Alexander Hunt Sr., a native of Jackson, Miss., and a long time resident of Fairhope, born on June 27, 1921, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He was the son of Frank and Ruby Hunt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lewis Hunt (Feb. 27, 2007) and two sons, Ray Hunt and Calvin Hunt Sr.
Survivors include five devoted children, Jan Marie (Sherman) Coleman of Mobile, Julius (Dora) Hunt of Moss Point, Miss., Chester A. Hunt Jr. of Fairhope, Tyrone (Theresa) Hunt of Des Moines, Iowa, Kerry (Darlene) Hunt of Mobile; eight grandchildren, one devoted, Jason Hunt of Fairhope; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil Hunt; many nieces, nephews, one devoted nephew, Julius V. Williams of Fairhope; loving cousin Julia Overbea, loving nephew, Larry James Williams of Mobile, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held beginning at 1 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10 at the Lebanon Chapel A.M.E. Churchon with the Rev. James Green, pastor, and the Rev. Walter Sumlin officiating. Interment will followe at Twin Beech Cemetery, Fairhope.
