The bride is the daughter of Debra J. Hughes of Fairhope and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar F. Johansen of Fairhope.
The bridegroom is the son of Paula W. Payne of Montrose and Weldon R. Payne of Montgomery.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Oscar Johansen.
Maid of honor was Lydia Hughes, sister of the bride. Polly Payne, sister of the bridegroom, served as a bridesmaid.
Best man was Rushing Payne, brother of the bridegroom. Ches Hughes, brother of the bride, served as a groomsman.
A reception was held June 1 at Stewartfield Historic Home.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Spanish Fort.
