DAPHNE, Ala. — Infirmary Health, in partnership with Hospital Oriented Professional Education, or H.O.P.E, presents a continuing education workshop Thursday, Sept. 15 and Friday, Sept. 16 in the Life Center at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. each day. The program is held from 8 a.m.–3 p.m. both days and is open to the public.
The H.O.P.E Committee is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The Alabama State Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The two-day workshop focuses on the importance of employee engagement and Donna Strickland, RN, PMH-CNS-BC, and Certified Speaking Professional is the keynote speaker.
“Donna is known for her work in leadership development, team building, emotional intelligence, humor and healing, deep change and executive coaching,” says Terri Cowles, H.O.P.E. committee member. “Her energetic presence and unique insight into human behavior promises an engaging and informative presentation.”
The main topics of the seminar are “What’s All the Fuss about Employee Engagement?” and “Do I have what it Takes?” Strickland will devote a day to each topic. The pre-registration cost is $10 each day for H.O.P.E. hospital employees and $20 at the door for non-H.O.P.E. members the pre-registration cost is $50 per day, and is $60 at the door.
Attendees can attend one or both days and will receive 5.6 CEUs each day. H.O.P.E. member hospital employees can register with their respective education departments.

The H.O.P.E. committee members are employees of the education departments of USA Children and Women’s Hospital, USA Medical Center, Infirmary West, Mobile Infirmary, North Baldwin Infirmary, Thomas Hospital, Springhill Medical Center, Providence Hospital, Mercy Medical and South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
