Homewood Suites opens in Daphne

DAPHNE, Ala. — Homewood Suites by Hilton, the all-suite, residential-style hotels, announced the opening of its newest property, a 104-suite hotel on Mobile’s east bay in Daphne.

“We continue to see strong demand in the extended stay hotel segment and feel this property helps to fill a need in the Mobile and the Eastern Shore area,” said Chuck Cuff, general manager. “Our guests are made to feel at home with fully equipped kitchens, separate living and sleeping areas and complimentary, high-speed wireless Internet access.”

Homewood Suites by Hilton Mobile East Bay/ Daphne, located at 29474 N. Main St., offers studio, one- and two-bedroom suites. Amenities include a daily complimentary Suite Start hot breakfast, a Welcome Home reception featuring a complimentary light meal and beverages Monday through Thursday evenings and an executive 24-hour business center. Beyond its spacious suites, home-like amenities include the Suite Shop, a 24-hour on-site pantry/convenience store, a spacious exercise facility, guest laundry and a complimentary grocery shopping service. Guests pay for groceries and other restrictions apply.

In addition to a swimming pool, guests can relax on the patio where there’s an outdoor fireplace and a putting green. The nearly 1,700 square feet of meeting space are dividable into two rooms. The Delta Board Room features state of the art equipment. Guests are welcomed by a decorated lobby with a cascading water fountain.

Cuff brings to the hotel more than 30 years in the hotel industry, 18 of which have been in the Mobile area. He served five terms as president of the Mobile Area Hotel/Motel Association, is past president of the Historic Mobile Preservation Society, and has served on the boards of the Mobile Visitor and Convention Bureau and America’s Junior Miss.

Director of sales, Sandy Caruso, brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience in the Mobile area, recently as sales director with Aramark at the Mobile Convention Center and Civic Center. Caruso is involved with the area Hotel Sales and Marketing Association and served as treasurer for the state chapter.
