William Michael Hollis, 51, a native of Leeds and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Port Allen, La., while on the job.
He was shop foreman with Groendyke Transportation in Port Allen, La. Prior to his present employment as service manager with Thompson Tractor Company for 18 years and was service manager for two years with Louisiana Machinery Company. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Kay Barnes Hollis of Spanish Fort; two sons, William Michael (Kasey) Hollis Jr., of Birmingham and Matthew Blaine Hollis of Spanish Fort; daughter, Miranda (Waylon) Vinson of Spanish Fort; three grandchildren, McKinzie Hollis, Acelynn Hollis and Jaylon Vinson; sister, Deena (Scotty) Stclair of Huntsville; two nieces, Beth and Emily Stclair; and two beloved four-legged friends, Boo and Prissy.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 24 at Norris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Richard Daniels officiating. Cremation will follow at a designated date.
